INGLEWOOD, Calif. (AP) — Kawhi Leonard made a buzzer-beater and finished with 34 points to give the Los Angeles Clippers a 126-124 win over the New Orleans Pelicans on Friday night in the first game of the NBA Cup group stage for both teams.

Leonard pump-faked to get Jeremiah Fears up in the air and then rose up for a long 2-point shot to win it after Zion Williamson had tied it with 9.6 seconds remaining by making two free throws.

James Harden had 24 points and 14 assists, and the Clippers have won all three home games to start the season. Derrick Jones Jr. scored 16 points, and Ivica Zubac had 14 points and 11 rebounds.

Jordan Poole had 30 points and made seven 3-pointers, Williamson finished with 29 points, but the Pelicans remained winless through five games. It is their worst start since dropping eight in a row to begin the 2016-17 campaign.

The Clippers had led by as many as 17 in the second half but their struggles to defend the Pelicans' shooting from 3-point range made things harder than they had to be.

New Orleans ended up 18 of 37 (48.6%) from 3, but it wasn't enough to overcome a dynamic showing from Los Angeles, led by Harden as both a scorer and distributor.

Harden had 14 points and five assists in the second quarter alone, including a four-point play when Yves Missi didn't give him room to land on a long 3.

(Nathan Denette/The Canadian Press via AP)

TORONTO (AP) — Addison Barger was thinking base hit off the bat — and he was going to score the tying run for Toronto in the ninth inning Friday night.

Then, in a flash, he got doubled off second and Game 6 was over. Just like that.

"I was being too aggressive," Barger said after the Blue Jays lost 3-1 to the Los Angeles Dodgers, sending the World Series to a deciding Game 7 on Saturday.

Trailing by two in the ninth, Toronto put runners at second and third with nobody out when Barger's ground-rule double off Roki Sasaki got lodged at the bottom of the fence in left-center.

Tyler Glasnow entered and quickly retired Ernie Clement on a popup. But the Blue Jays still had a good chance to rally — until Andrés Giménez hit a soft liner to left field that Kiké Hernández turned into a game-ending double play.

Hernández caught the ball on the run in shallow left-center and fired to second base, where Miguel Rojas made a tough pick of a one-hop throw to double off Barger and end the game.

Barger initially broke toward third. He was surprised Hernández got to the ball and was able to catch it on a fly.

"I didn't think it was going to travel that far, so it was kind of a bad read," Barger said.

Toronto slugger George Springer, a cluch hitter throughout his postseason career, was left in the on-deck circle.

It was the first 7-4 game-ending double play in postseason history, according to the Elias Sports Bureau.

"Wild way to finish it," Blue Jays manager John Schneider said. "It's such a 'tweener. He made a good play."

Hernández decided to play even more shallow against Giménez than the scouting report suggested.

"Given the situation, really fast guy at second base, I was like, you know what? I'm going to play really, really shallow. If he hits it over my head, kudos to him. I feel like his pop is more to the pull side," Hernández said.

"Somehow I was able to hear that the bat broke even with that crowd. The crazy thing is I had no idea where the ball was because it was in the lights the whole time. But given the situation in the game, the World Series on the line and how good I was hitting tonight, I was like, it's going to hit me in the face — but I'm not stopping. I'm not pulling up. And at the very end, the ball came out of the lights and went into my glove."

Dodgers shortstop Mookie Betts couldn't believe it.

"That was crazy. I thought it was a bloop hit," Betts said. "And then I saw Kiké running to catch it, and then I turned and looked at second and I saw he was halfway. I don't know if Kiké actually heard, but I was screaming 'Two! Two! Two!' But Kiké's instincts are so good, man. He probably saw the whole thing himself. He got it and threw it immediately. The best part of that play was Miggy. That was a sick catch."

Los Angeles catcher Will Smith said Barger "got a little giddy and wanted to score the tying run", but he also credited Rojas with "one heck of a pick."

"That was awesome," Smith said.

Dodgers manager Dave Roberts praised Hernández for getting a great jump on the ball, saying he's one of the headiest players he's ever been around.

"Heck of a baseball player, heck of a play," Roberts said.

TORONTO — Hall of Fame outfielder Vladimir Guerrero walked in the corridor Friday night of the Rogers Centre with a few friends, greeted a familiar face, and simply uttered: "Game 7."

He spread his hands out, exhaled, and shook his head.

Guerrero played in only one World Series in his 16 year-career and never won a title, and his son Vladimir Jr. has a chance to go where he never went, playing in Game 7 of the World Series against the Los Angeles Dodgers on Saturday night after losing 3-1 in Game 6.

The Blue Jays are now going to have to do it the hard way, with Shohei Ohtani expected to start – or perhaps even pitch in late relief, meaning he could have to play in the the outfield to stay in the game after pitching.

"It's a possibility," Roberts said, when asked if Ohtani would start. "We are not certain, but it's a possibility."

The original plan was for Tyler Glasnow to start, but he came on in the ninth of Game 6 after rookie Rōki Sasaki tired, and closed out the game.

"That was pretty cool," Glasnow said, producing the first save of this World Series.

Shohei Ohtani is expected to pitch in Game 7 for the Dodgers.

It now sets the magical stage for Ohtani, who saved the World Series Baseball Classic for Team Japan, win he struck out Angels teammate Mike Trout to end win the gold medal.

Neither team has much Game 7 experience, with the Blue Jays never playing a Game 7 while the Dodgers lost their last seven-game World Series in 2017 against the Houston Astros.

"It's going to be electric here," Blue Jays manager John Schneider said.

"We had our chances with guys on base kind of as the game went on. But we're going to be ready to play [Saturday]. Everyone's going to be ready to play. I expect them to be playing cards around 1:00 p.m., kind of shooting the [stuff] with everyone. It's going to be fun here. But to the fans. See you [Saturday] night. Be loud, be rowdy. We're going to be ready to play."

If they had their druthers, of course, the series would already be over. But Yoshinobu Yamamoto never gave them a chance. He gave up just five hits and one run in six innings, with their bullpen hanging on for dear life, and even using Glasnow, who originally was expected to start Game 7.

That honor now likely goes to Ohtani.

"Just kind of figuring out what his temperature is on starting versus coming out of the pen," Roberts said, "and so we're close to a decision."

Ohtani has never pitched on three days' rest in his MLB career, but this is the World Series.

"This is Game 7, so there's a lot of things that people haven't done," Roberts said. "You've just got to trust your players and try to win a baseball game.

What's another Ohtani super-human feat to go down in the history books?

"We're going to leave it out there," Roberts said. "I don't think that the pressure, the moment's going to be too big for us. We got to go out there and win one baseball game. We've done that all year. Everyone's bought in. So I don't know how the game's going to play out, but as far as kind of the moment, winning a game, I couldn't be more excited to get to sleep and wake up to play a baseball game."

Game 7, there's nothing like it.

"It's going to be three or four or five hours of mayhem and great baseball," Schneider said. "These guys are going to be ready for it. Hopefully they get to slow some things down but enjoy it.

"It's Game 7 of the World Series at your home stadium. I mean, what the hell else do you want?"

Recorded on the fly — literally, as reigning queen Kylie Sonique Love rushed through an airport — EW's *RuPaul's Drag Race All Stars 6 *reunion is hereby dubbed *The Sisterhood of the Traveling Sisterhood*. The *AS6* top four gathered together for a special video episode of EW's BINGE podcast (above) for the first time since September's finale, and they're spilling all the tea on the wildest, funniest, shadiest happenings that made theirs one of the best seasons in *Drag Race* her-story — including Yara Sofia's incredible "F--- you all!" exit line.

"It was not a joke.... Just a fact! She meant it, and she looked each one of us dead in our eyes and said it!" Ginger Minj explains with a laugh. Eureka says it all felt "serious" in the moment, but they can all look back on it now and laugh: "That's the merch I want Yara to make, honey! Get me a shirt with Yara on it that says 'F--- you all,' I would wear it!"

Ra'Jah O'Hara also reveals that she spent only $600 on runway outfits for the entire competition — including her challenge-winning performance in the Blue Ball and her incredible eyeball couture — which she feels redeemed her standing in the eyes of the judges and the fans since season 11. There is, however, one *AS6* moment she apologizes for: the infamous lip-sync against Kameron Michaels to Charli XCX's "Boom Clap."

"I was a little bit nervous to watch it because I knew what I was giving in the moment, and I knew it wasn't impressive, so I wasn't expecting it to be one of those drop-dead, Ra'Jah standout moments. I was not prepared, I didn't think I was going to win the challenge, so I didn't prepare and learn the song all the way," she says. "Me winning that challenge was an absolute shock, and then having to perform that song, especially in front of Charli XCX, I wish I would've prepared a little bit more, because I know how dynamic of a performer that I am, so that wasn't my best and I do apologize to Charli, but that's the way it happened!"

Kornbread "The Snack" Jeté entered the *RuPaul's Drag Race* season 14 Werk Room with baked-in status as *the* Lizzo impersonator in Los Angeles — a reputation she says nearly landed her a gig working with the premiere episode's Grammy-winning guest judge many years ago, and also inspired a last-minute outfit change before she stomped the runway in a look that resembled the singer's getup on the panel.

RuPaul's Drag Race

During Friday's season 14 debut, Lizzo celebrated Kornbread for (jokingly) "stealing" her look on the runway, as both women appeared on the show in glistening silver fabric — but Lizzo's initial assessment wasn't far off, as Kornbread reveals that she switched her runway outfit at the last minute when she learned that Lizzo would be judging her.

"My original plan for the runway, if you notice, in the bag I had [on stage during the talent show performance] with Merle Ginsberg's face [on the milk carton], it was the ingredients to make cornbread from scratch," Kornbread explains during a special mini episode of EW's BINGE podcast (below), adapted from our new *Quick Drag* post-show interview series airing Fridays at 10:05 p.m. ET / 7:05 p.m. PT on EW's Twitter Spaces. "I was going to walk out on the runway.... in a brown velour gown with butter dripping over it, it was going to be me as the cornbread afterward! When Lizzo walked in the room and had that on.... it was very much the moment of thinking, 'You're in front of your idol and you have the same material as her,' why would I *not* walk in it? If you're smart and you watch *RuPaul's Drag Race*, they always say, 'bitch stole my look,' I was like, girl, you think I'm about to not take the opportunity to get this moment? So I threw it on!"

drag race season 14 ep. 1

Kornbread also reveals that "someone contacted" her about the possibility of working with Lizzo "a very long time ago," when she first started drag.

"Someone contacted me for her, it was a music video thing, like a spoof kind of situation she wanted to do, and, child, they asked me to do somebody's jump-split, and you knew that wasn't happening!" Kornbread recalls.

When asked about the possibility of re-teaming with Lizzo after the show, given the singer-songwriter's clear affection for Kornbread (the singer made her cry happy tears after telling her she was a "superstar" on the Main Stage thanks to her incredible talent show performance), the L.A. queen says: "My whole goal was to wait until this episode aired. But, baby, tomorrow morning, I shall be in her inbox from all of my accounts, including my finstas!"

*RuPaul's Drag Race* star Eureka was absolutely *living* for Chad Michaels and Evan Peters on *American Horror Story*... well, before their character died, that is.

During a recent interview for EW's BINGE podcast, the *All Stars 6 *queen reveals that their fellow *Drag Race* icon—who appeared on season 4 of the show before winning *All Stars 1*—filmed scenes with them for *American Horror Story: Double Feature*'s Sept. 8 episode "Blood Buffet," which were ultimately cut from the broadcast.

"Chad Michaels was there, she introduced Evan Peters' character, Patty O'Furniture, on stage. She was actually the host of the show! I was shocked they cut her right out!" Eureka recalls of filming an episode that follows Peters as a struggling performer who's turned into a blood-sucker at the hands of romance novelist Belle Noir, played by Frances Conroy. (FX did not respond to EW's request for confirmation on scenes that were cut from the installment, but Chad also posted about being on the show on Instagram.)

Eureka appears as Crystal DeCanter, a local matriarchal queen whose commitment to excellence puts their Provincetown peers to shame. And they remember Chad as being "really supportive" on set throughout production. "She was like, 'Girl, you're doing it, I'm so proud of you.' She's like the original mama, honey, to all the girls.... she takes care of all the girls, she's watching out."

The* We're Here *star says that, while they didn't put Peters in full drag for their scenes together, they did "give him some advice" on the art form.

"[It was] more like loving advice, because you know that's my baby!" Eureka says. "I call her my drag daughter now! We had a good time." The queen adds they also got to run lines with Conroy before filming, saying, "It was magic just getting to be in the same room."

The moment particularly resonated with Eureka after they landed in the middle of the pack during *AS6*'s *RuMerican Horror Story* satirical acting challenge earlier this year.

"I felt like I got to redeem myself because I love to act, I want people to take me as an actor and take it as seriously as I do. It's one of my favorite things to do in the world," Eureka says, finishing with optimism for the future: "I died in the *RuMerican Horror Story*, I died in *American Horror Story*, I hope I stay alive though, honey!"

Legend has it that if you look in the mirror and "Snap Yo Fingers" three times, newly minted *RuPaul's Drag Race*'s *Snatch Game* icon DeJa Skye will appear as Lil Jon to give you a walloping "YEAH!"

The challenge-winning queen joined EW's latest *Quick Drag* recap (listen below) to discuss her approach to the fan-favorite celebrity impersonation challenge — the season 14 edition of which RuPaul admitted the cast "killed," like, in a *bad* way, outside of DeJa's impeccable work as the charismatic recording artist.

"Coming off the last episode [loss], I was going into it not giving up. Let me just have fun with this. I hadn't practiced with the grillz, I hadn't practiced vocally, I just did it on a whim. I'm a pretty good improviser, so I was just going with the flow and hoping that it worked," DeJa said of throwing her inner saboteur to the wind and letting Lil Jon rip through a series of now-classic exclamations of "YEAH!" peppered throughout the performance.

While DeJa's natural comedic timing was on her side for the performance, the prop grillz she used were not.

"I told all the girls what I was doing prior to that time, so I'd just practice the 'YEAHs', and hearing them just cackle, I was like, okay, I got 'em. You have to roll with things," she says, explaining that the moment she lost a grill in the middle of the challenge — which, of course, sent RuPaul into a laughing fit — wasn't planned. "I had never practiced with the grillz, and I noticed they were slightly slipping off. [I thought], let me make it a moment and incorporate grillz in the answer. After that, oh my God, so bad, do not do this, but I nail-glued them to my teeth so they wouldn't come out."

She also admits there were several things she'd planned to do as Lil Jon ahead of time, but that the spirit of the moment took over, and she listened to her intuition that told her to just keep it cute and keep it simple.

"In *Snatch Game*, your mind is wondering 50,000 places a minute. I had a plan that every time the answer wasn't correct, I'd be like, [*switches to Lil Jon voice*] 'WHAT!?' and I didn't get to do it!" says DeJa. She also credits Willow Pill with helping her elevate her Lil Jon boy drag into a more glamorous take on the early-aughts icon, with her competitor — who performed as Drew Barrymore in the *Snatch Game* — suggesting that she wear a campy amount of lipstick to make the character a caricature versus a mere copy of Lil Jon.

While DeJa came out on top of the *Snatch Game*, her seven co-competitors weren't as lucky. After Michelle Visage launched an "investigation" on the panel after the rest of DeJa's sisters failed to impress the judges with their celeb performances, RuPaul announced that the following episode would consist of a LaLaPaRuza lip-sync smackdown of paired lip-sync duels, all whittled down to one eliminee.

"We are a strong eight for a reason, and everyone excels at any given moment, so, you're in for a treat, and I'm in for a show," DeJa says of what fans can expect from the episode. "Willow was ready to do so. She was like, let's go, let's lip-sync, let's do it.... I saw not even a fire, someone who was more or less ready to break it down. I'd seen Willow in the '60s girl group, but I was excited to see how she embodies an actual lip-sync. That to me was the funniest moment."

See how the queens fare in the LaLaPaRuza lip-sync smackdown when *RuPaul's Drag Race* season 14 continues Friday at 8 p.m. ET/PT on VH1. Ever since he first picked up a tennis racket, João Fonseca has shown a penchant for power – even if it came with mixed results.

"I was the kind of kid that destroyed the ball," says Fonseca. "Sometimes, it would go into the fence; sometimes, it would go straight to the floor; and then, sometimes, we're doing a winner."

That approach – fearless, furious and unrestrained – has stayed with the Brazilian into his professional career, and today, his ripping forehand is one of the most breathtaking sights in men's tennis.

Few players can match the 19-year-old Fonseca when it comes to raw power, particularly on the forehand wing. This not-so-subtle, not-so-secret weapon has guided him to two ATP Tour titles this year, including in the Swiss city of Basel last week.

There, Fonseca thumped 29 winners to see off Spain's Alejandro Davidovich Fokina in the final, while his average forehand speed was clocked at 81 miles per hour. For comparison, top players usually average around 75.

"I think my coach was really the first one that said: 'Keep with this aggression,'" Fonseca tells CNN Sports about his all-out approach. "'Keep doing this, but at the same time, let's work with being more solid.'

"During these last years, I understood that you can't hit the ball hard every time … Sometimes, it's a stupid idea, of course, but sometimes, it's good to be aggressive, to be courageous and have confidence in your shots."

Lifting the title in Basel saw Fonseca become the third-youngest ATP 500 winner since the format was introduced in 2009, as well as the tournament's youngest winner since Jim Courier in 1989.

Still a teenager, Fonseca's potential is huge, his freakish power likely to become more of a threat as he develops and refines his game. To some, he is destined to join Carlos Alcaraz and Jannik Sinner – by far and away the standout players in men's tennis this year – at the very top of the game.

"The Brazilian Blaster (Fonseca) is a generational talent as I said 2 years ago and will be right there someday with the Italian Flamethrower (Sinner) and Spanish Magician (Alcaraz)," Rick Macci, the former coach to Serena Williams, wrote on X recently.

Those players, Macci added, will "create a new big three" to replace Roger Federer, Rafael Nadal and Novak Djokovic.

Davidovich Fokina spoke along the same lines during his runner-up speech in Basel, telling Fonseca that he is "for sure going to be the next Nole (Djokovic) to beat Carlos and Jannik."

After winning last year's Next Gen ATP Finals title – a tournament featuring the world's best players under 20 – Fonseca turned heads at the Australian Open in January with a straight-sets victory over ninth seed Andrey Rublev.

He followed that up by winning the Argentina Open a month later, becoming the second-youngest South American to win an ATP title in the Open Era.

But Fonseca's progress hasn't been exponential. He failed to progress past the third round of a grand slam this year, perhaps a surprise after the enormous promise he showed at the start of the season.

The victory in Basel, however, reaffirmed his status as one of the most explosive talents in the game, with Fonseca climbing 18 spots up the rankings to No. 28. That puts him well on track to fulfill his self-ascribed objectives for next year.

"I think one of my goals is to be a seed, top 32 (at a grand slam)," says Fonseca. "It's my personal goal. I'm working a lot to do it … let's see how it goes."

To get to this level, Fonseca had to spend his formative years building a bond with tennis. As a young player, the game would make him feel restless, and he often found himself chasing big, haymaking shots on the court. He was even more impatient off it, unable to watch a full match without losing interest.

That changed around 2019, when Fonseca sat absorbed as Novak Djokovic defeated Roger Federer in a Wimbledon final lasting four hours and 57 minutes – the longest final in the tournament's history.

A self-proclaimed Federer superfan, that match hurt Fonseca. As he started to enjoy tennis as a spectator, he would often watch the "Big 3" play out match after memorable match on the sport's biggest stages, but it was the Swiss star who captivated him the most.

"He's my idol," Fonseca confesses. Which goes some way to explaining why he suddenly found himself a sweaty, nervous wreck before meeting Federer for the first time in September.

"We had a nice chat, about 10 minutes, and we talked a little bit about life, tour, how it is to live in Brazil and be far from home," says Fonseca, adding: "He's a super nice guy. You see these amazing players, these legends, as untouchable (and think): this guy is different. But no, he's just a human being like us, super cool.

"It was a very important moment; it's going to be in my mind for my whole life."

It's likely that the two might cross paths again, particularly given that Fonseca is sponsored by On – the sportswear company in which Federer has invested and helped with product development. The Brazilian was only 16 when he was signed by On and earmarked as a star in the making, joining a roster that includes six-time grand slam winner Iga Świątek and world No. 7 Ben Shelton.

Several years earlier, Fonseca had made the decision to focus his sporting endeavors solely on tennis, not long after a soccer injury had left him sidelined for months.

Like most kids growing up in Rio de Janeiro, soccer was, and still is, one of his great loves, even though his playing days have long since passed.

"I was a good level," says Fonseca. "I'm a lefty leg, I had some skills, but nothing serious. I wouldn't be professional or whatever. Fortunately, I stayed with tennis."

After reaching the quarterfinals of last year's Rio Open aged 17, Fonseca decided to forego his college eligibility – he was holding a place at the University of Virginia – and turn professional.

Since then, his march up the world rankings has been steady, quickly earning him an army of dedicated fans. Fonseca's matches are some of the loudest on tour, and regardless of whether he's playing in Brazil or further afield, yellow-and-green-clad spectators are guaranteed whenever he's on a tennis court.

It's taken time, Fonseca admits, to grow accustomed to playing in front of such raucous crowds.

"At the beginning, I was super nervous," he says. "I needed to win, and there are people watching me, there are people cheering for me. The culture of Brazil is super loud, a lot of people supporting, I'll say a little bit because of football.

"I got used a lot to the crowd. Nowadays, I love playing with the crowd. I love them supporting me. I love that sometimes I'm in a bad situation in the match and they're still supporting me, still cheering and motivating me.

"I was more like a shy guy," he adds, "and now I'm loving it."

Playing in loud matches at big tournaments is likely to be a mainstay of Fonseca's career. He is slowly accumulating more experience against the world's best players but hasn't yet faced Djokovic – he's hopeful of doing so before the Serb, now 38, retires – nor has he played either Alcaraz or Sinner.

Those kinds of matches might become a regular occurrence should Fonseca, armed with that ferocious forehand, continue his march up the rankings. For now, he is watching closely as two players just a few years his senior rule over men's tennis, sharing the past eight grand slams equally between them.

One day, Fonseca might be in a position to challenge their duopoly.

"What they're doing is amazing," he says of Alcaraz and Sinner. "They're winning every tournament that they play.

"They motivate all the other players to put more work in day by day, and try to be with them, try to win more tournaments, try to win matches, be more consistent. Hopefully, in the future, I will be with them, playing and competing in finals. But one step at a time, and let's put in the work."

TORONTO (AP) — One loss from elimination, the Los Angeles Dodgers are shaking up their lineup again for Game 6 of the World Series at Toronto on Friday night.

After moving from second to third in the order in Wednesday's Game 5 loss, shortstop Mookie Betts dropped into the cleanup spot Friday against Blue Jays right-hander Kevin Gausman.

Betts had not hit as low as fourth since the final game of the 2017 American League Division Series against Houston.

Game 5 was the first time since 2021 that Betts started but wasn't in one of the top two spots in Los Angeles' lineup. Betts is 3 for 23 with no RBIs and no extra-base hits in the World Series.

Catcher Will Smith was set to bat second for the second straight game. Freddie Freeman moved from fourth to third.

Dodgers manager Dave Roberts said he wanted to give leadoff hitter Shohei Ohtani, Smith and Freeman the chance to get on base in front of Betts, adding that Betts had a good day of work on Thursday's off day.

"Where his swing is at mechanically is as good as it's been in a week," Roberts said. "I really feel good about that."

Tommy Edman moved from second base to center field, his first outfield start this postseason, and was set to bat eighth. Miguel Rojas made his first start of the World Series at second base, batting ninth.

"I just really wanted Miggy in there," Roberts said. "He's been a glue guy for our club this year and I just feel that having him in the lineup infuses some extra intensity and energy into the lineup, on the defensive side, too."

The Dodgers shuffled their lineup before Game 5 but had just four hits in a 6-1 loss. Los Angeles had six hits in a 6-2 defeat in Game 4.

Los Angeles is batting .236 as a team through 15 games this October. Dodgers batters have struck out 148 times in 533 at-bats.

Roberts also said Ohtani would not be available to pitch Friday. Ohtani took the loss in Tuesday's Game 4, allowing four runs and six hits in six innings.

Straight Pride™ ended when Maddy Morphosis sashayed away from *RuPaul's Drag Race* season 14.

Though many fan-generated memes suggested otherwise, RuPaul's three-time Emmy-winning fashion mastermind Zaldy tells EW the *Drag Race *host's now-iconic patchwork dress from the April 8 "Catwalk" episode was not, in fact, a tribute to Maddy's affectionately derided, country-friend Glamazon Prime creation from episode 6.

"That's purely coincidence. There are two different things: Yes, it's the same kind of [aesthetic] muse, but that look for Ru, we always love a coat of many colors as a reference," Zaldy says on the new episode of EW's BINGE podcast above, adding that the final creation was actually an intricately crafted tapestry of several past looks RuPaul has worn over the years.

RuPaul's Drag Race

RuPaul's season 14 patch dress was not a tribute to Maddy Morphosis, says Zaldy. World of Wonder/VH1 (2)

"We created it because, every now and again, I save so many of the scraps of things we use for Ru outfits because I think they're just so beautiful," Zaldy continues, noting that there are pieces of Ru's favorite dress — the pink and orange leopard number remixed by Shea Couleé on last week's *All Stars 7* episode — spread throughout the design. "That one, if you look closely, does have these sacred pieces of the hand-painted leopard [dress] in that look. That look is very designed. It has gradating diamond patterns that get smaller toward the top. It's very involved. It's not [just] a patchwork thrown together."

Zaldy, who's worked with RuPaul for decades, also revealed that Shea's *All Stars 7* recreation shook him the hardest, with her hand-crafted "gradation of the scale of the spots" giving him "goosebumps" as he watched her re-design RuPaul's favorite look of all time.

As for the rest of the all-winners cast, who were also tasked with re-interpreting famous RuPaul looks, Zaldy commended them for not simply remixing the clothes, but tailoring them to fit their personal aesthetics.

"If I'm going for who was the most glamorous vision, it was definitely Jaida [Essence Hall]," he observes. "When she came out with that little, tiny mini fur and tied it back to a Diana Ross hairstyle, it was just an incredible, visually stunning look. So was Trinity [The Tuck's], this outrageous head-to-toe look. Everybody really had a moment. I was really impressed with their thought process and their interpretation. Everybody did something I was really touched by."

Though he steers the ship when it comes to RuPaul's closet, he clarifies with a laugh that he isn't the one who put RuPaul in flip-flops and a tracksuit for the Fairytale Justice challenge several episodes ago.

"Ru likes to play, too," he says. "Ru loves fashion, and Ru plays. She loves it. That's 100 percent Ru.... I don't put anybody in flip-flops!"
